Manuel is the Director of Business Development at the digital division of Cambridge Education Group. He works on developing partnerships with prestigious universities across the UK to enable them to expand the reach of their educational activities, taking full advantage of the possibilities offered by high quality online learning provision and international markets. He is also a Visiting Professor in Digital Learning at the Academic Practice Directorate, University of the West of England, UK.

Manuel is an international learning technology expert with over 20 years teaching, research and management experience as an academic. He has worked and collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams at universities across Europe. His formal academic background in Linguistics and Modern Foreign Languages, together with a life-long interest in the use of technology led him to develop a career in the fields of Learning Enhancement, Technology Enhanced Learning, Distance, Blended and Distributed Learning. He is an active researcher in the field of Cognitive Computing, exploring the affordances that Artificial Intelligence can bring into the learning process and the development of sophisticated automated learning simulations.
