Students have been browsing online and considering options abroad for their studies; now that marketing and recruitment have moved mostly online it is crucial to keep a finger on the pulse of student interest.

Marcus is an established higher education marketing and enrollment management professional and consultant, having served in a variety of roles working with undergraduate and graduate students for nearly 15 years. He currently serves as Director of Graduate Admission at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI, where he helped grow graduate enrollments by more than 35 percent under his tenure and has built graduate student community and services with the University’s first graduate student fees and the inaugural Graduate Student Associatio. He previously worked in progressive roles in undergraduate and graduate admission at the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT.
Marcus has presented widely on enrollment management and marketing strategies for adult and graduate students at national and regional conferences for Academic Impressions, Aslanian Market Research, Carnegie Dartlet, NAGAP, NEGAP, Stamats, TxGAP, and others, and recently completed his third term on the NAGAP Board of Directors. He was awarded the Future Leader Award by NAGAP in 2012 and was the founding president of NEGAP, the New England Association for Graduate Enrollment Management. He is now host of the official NAGAP podcast, The NAGAP Report.
Thijs is Director Analytics and Consulting Team at Studyportals since 2015 and partner of iE&D Solutions BV since 2006. Some of his recent clients are: University of London, Karolisnka Institute, University of Groningn, Utrecht University, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Jönköping University, Uppsala University, VU University Amsterdam, Radboud University, University of Twente, University of the Arctic, Tromsø University, College of Europe and NHTV Breda University. From 1989 until 2005 Thijs worked for Tilburg University (14 yrs; NL), the ERASMUS Bureau in Brussels and for Sheffield Hallam University (1.5 yrs; UK).
Thijs is the founder of the Professional Section on Marketing & Recruitment of the European Association for International Education (EAIE). He was the chair of M&R from 2002 until 2008 and was a member of EAIE’s Executive Board from 2004 until 2008. In 2006 he published a book on The Impact of Tuition Fees on International Student Recruitment and in September 2009, Thijs was awarded the Bo Gregersen Award for Best Practice of the EAIE.
Frank has worked at the University of Arizona since 2012. He is the executive director of external communications for Arizona Global, the international office at the UA. In this capacity he is responsible for managing all marketing efforts for UA’s international admissions team as well as study abroad, alumni engagement, international student services and others.
He has played an instrumental role in launching the University of Arizona Microcampus Network, a network of nearly 700 locations around the world where global students can earn UA degrees. Though this initiative launched in 2015, it was forced into rapid growth due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the UA launched several new marketing efforts through digital media, virtual events, and traditional media in an effort to continue engaging our students and prospects around the world.
Ashley is the director of student recruitment, admissions and international, immigrant and refugee student services at The University of Winnipeg, in Manitoba, Canada, where she has worked for nearly 7 years.
Prior to joining the post-secondary industry, she worked as a publicist/publicity manager, providing insight on Canadian messaging, brand alignment and marketing for international clients including Tommy Hilfiger, Loblaws and Inditex, and as a project manager for the post-secondary planning tool Career Cruising (Xello). She is a Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA), and has served in an advisory role in a number of education-related organizations.
